Application & Enrollment Process
Applications for the 25/26 School Year are open! Our lottery will take place on January 14th.
Who Can Apply?
We welcome all future scientists, coders, engineers, and mathematicians. Students as young as the age of four can be enrolled within our charter schools.
It is the policy of SST Schools to comply with all state and federal regulations regarding admission and not to discriminate during the admission and the lottery process on the basis of gender, national origin, ethnicity, religion, disability, academic, artistic, athletic ability, or the district the child would otherwise attend.
When Can You Apply?
Applications are welcome year-around but subject to capacity at the campus.
Application season for the upcoming school year is November 1st through the first week of January. If you submitted an application before November 1st for the upcoming school year, please resubmit again as our system clears out all applications before our open application season. Click here to receive an email reminder when applications open.
Once you submit an application, we will hold a virtual lottery to select our new students. Parents do not need to present for the lottery as results will be emailed to parents after the lottery has run.
Application Process
Applicants must create an account and submit a completed Application Form in order to be considered for admission. The application form must be signed and dated by the parent(s). The application form must include the following items:
- Applicant’s name (first, last, and middle names)
- Applicant’s birth date
- Applicant’s current grade level and grade applied for
- Applicant’s residential address
- Phone numbers
- Applicant’s parents’ name and signature
- Whether the applicant has a sibling already admitted to attending the school
- If they are a staff member’s child
How the Lottery Works
Our lottery is conducted virtually by using SchoolMint, a third-party application software. Parents or applicants do not need to be present to receive a spot. The lottery for the upcoming school year will occur in January. However, if you missed the lottery and are interested in applying for the upcoming school year, please feel free to complete an application.
A lottery is to be conducted if the number of applicants exceeds the maximum enrollment. The lottery shall take place within 15 days after the last day of the application period. The lottery will be conducted via lottery selection software under the supervision of a campus representative and central office representative. This ensures that the winner list and the waiting list are selected randomly. We cannot show the results of the lottery during the live session due to privacy reasons. The results of the lottery shall be certified by a notary public. You will be emailed the status of your application after the results have been published within the system. Please allow some time for the results to be sent. Your campus registrar will also be reaching out through email this week to confirm your spot.
You will have 5 days to accept your spot. The required documents to register are outlined in the accordion below.
Waiting List
The lottery will be paused momentarily after all available seats are filled that are allowed by the enrollment cap. The drawing will then continue, and the randomly selected numbers will be used to create a waiting list. As space becomes available, applicants will be called from the waiting list beginning with applicants with the lowest number of assignments.
Missed the lottery? No worries! You can still apply! You can still submit an application.
After You Accept Your Child's Spot
Required Enrollment Documents
Once you have accepted your child's spot. The Registrar at your campus will reach out to you with instructions on completing registration. You'll need to have the following information handy to complete the enrollment process.

- Current Immunization Record
- Social Security Card for the child (if available)
- Photo ID of Parent or Guardian
- Proof of Residency (Current Utility Bill, Lease Agreement)

Re-Enrollment for Current Students
Transfer Students
Civil Action 5281 requires that TEA not approve student transfers where the effect of such transfers changes the majority or minority percentage of the school population by more than one percent in either the sending or receiving district. SST Schools comply with reporting transfer students pursuant to Civil Action 5281 by using the student transfer system provided on the Texas Education Agency website under PEIMS section.
Children of the School’s Founders, Board Members, Employees and Siblings Policy
Children of the school’s founders, governing board members, teachers, and staff* as well as siblings of returning students (who timely notify the school of their intent to return for the next school year) are exempt from lottery requirements.
If there are more children of school founders, governing board members, teachers and staff and sibling applicants than spaces available, they will be entered into a separate lottery and either admitted if space allows or placed on the waiting list in the order that they are drawn.
Another separate lottery will be held for applicants who do not fall into either of the two above mentioned categories, and who submit applications prior to the deadline. These students will be admitted if there is space or will be placed on the waiting list in the order drawn.
For this policy “sibling” shall mean a biological or legally adopted brother or sister residing in the same household as the applicant. Cousins, nieces, nephews and unrelated children sharing an address with the applicant are not siblings. Sibling enrollment is dependent on available space and does not guarantee enrollment of each listed sibling.
*As long as the total number of students allowed constitutes only a small percentage of the total enrollment, as permitted by federal guidance on the Charter Schools Program.
